We have an urgent need at RMHCCI that we hope you can help us with! Our Houses are currently full or very close to capacity, and we are bursting with the laughter and joy of siblings who are out of school for the summer. It's heartwarming to see these families together during challenging times!
However, this summer has presented unique challenges for us. Our volunteer groups for "Meals from the Heart" have decreased significantly, making it harder for our staff to keep up with the cooking demands. With more guests in both Houses and fewer volunteer groups, our staff is working tirelessly to ensure everyone is well-fed and cared for.
We need your support to provide nourishing meals for our families. Our solution? Catered meals from local restaurants! Not only will this save our staff valuable time and resources, but it will also support local businesses and make sure our families are well-fed during their stay.
Here's how you can help:
1.) Sign up your group to sponsor a catered meal. Whether it's your workplace, school, or community organization, your contribution will make a significant impact on the lives of our families.
2.) Become a meal donor by contributing towards the cost of catered meals. Your generosity will directly provide comfort and support to families during their stay at RMHCCI.
Together, we can make a difference and keep families close when they need it most. Let's rally together as a community and ensure our Houses are filled with love, care, and delicious meals!

Your change = more comfort, care, and kindness for RMHCCI families.
Every time you visit a local McDonald’s restaurant, you can help support RMHCCI families by asking to Round-Up for RMHC when you place your order on the kiosk or with a crew member at the counter or drive-thru. Those small donations add up and have the power to change a child's life. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to Round-Up. Together, we can make a difference for families in need!

We want to give a huge shoutout to the extraordinary local McDonald's Owner/Operators, Paul and Mary Breznay, whose incredible dedication has made this game possible for over three decades. Their unwavering support and generosity have not only raised nearly $50,000 but have also made a profound impact on the Ronald McDonald House Charities. Last night, they presented a remarkable check for $8,930, symbolizing their continuous commitment to RMHCCI!

Ryan, Hannah, and their brave little warrior Brooks had the honor of throwing the first pitch at the 32nd Annual McDonald's All-Star game. Let's give a round of applause for Brooks! Brooks's journey is nothing short of miraculous. Born at 23 weeks and weighing a mere 1 pound three ounces, he spent 151 challenging days in the NICU. Throughout this difficult time, his loving mom and dad stayed by his side at the Ronald McDonald House, providing unwavering support. WATCH HERE.

The Creation of a Reading Corner! |
|
|
A Special Thank You to The Kiwanis Club of Springfield Downtown and the Sangamon County Republican Women's Group! We are thrilled to announce that a wonderful project is underway at our Springfield House - the creation of a Reading Corner!
Thanks to the amazing efforts of Amanda Brown, the director of the Reading Corners, and the collaboration between The Kiwanis Club of Springfield Downtown and the Sangamon County Republican Women's Group, we will soon have a space dedicated to fostering a love for reading among children. The Kiwanis Reading Corners project, pioneered by Amanda Brown, is truly remarkable. It aims to provide access to books for children of all backgrounds up to the age of 12 by creating these wonderful reading spaces. We are eagerly looking forward to setting up bookshelves, a cozy rug, and a children's table in a frequently visited area of our facility, creating an inviting environment that will encourage young minds to dive into the world of books.
We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to The Kiwanis Club of Springfield Downtown for their dedication to improving literacy and education in our community.
Their commitment to making a difference is evident in the four existing reading corner locations they have already established. These spaces have undoubtedly made a positive impact on countless children's lives, and we are excited to be joining their efforts.
Additionally, we extend a warm thank you to the Sangamon County Republican Women's Group for their generous funding.
Your support will make it possible to bring this project to life and provide children with the opportunity to explore the wonders of literature.
Together, we are creating a brighter future for the children at RMHCCI by promoting literacy and a love for reading. Let's continue to inspire young minds and open doors to a world of imagination through the Kiwanis Reading Corners initiative! |
